I am not self made
Recently I realized that gratitude means not only acknowledging the people around you, the things they do, as well as the actions you do for yourself, it also means you need to acknowledge the "Taken for granted" luxuries in your life. I am not talking about basic needs or wants.
I am talking about the ability to go to different places, hang out with various people, talk to them on a variety of topics without worrying about anyone. I am talking about the people who might give you an ear to listen to your problems, a click on the app that gets you what you want, see what you like, read whatever the fuck you want.
I am talking about the money, time and efforts people invest in you and vice versa. I am talking about the network that you build which gives you an advantage of getting that job or internship over others. I am talking about that college, class, tuition, meetup, workshop, or anything you attended for anywhere between socializing to networking.
I am talking about the professors that teach you, using various means. I am talking about the people that charge you money for the services that they give you in return. I am talking about the malls, shops, places, destinations you visit and get the time to spend there, enjoying, chilling, relaxing in return.
I am not self-made. Because I realized I take no efforts to get what I want. I was given a comfortable way of living with good education, a close knit family involving of grandparents and even relatives due to the adults that are in contact/relation with them.
I was given these clothes to wear, picked up on body language and speaking through subconscious listening it in my day to day life. I was given, food and drinks that were nutritious to me and learnt what it is, how it has been created and where to buy it from.
And, I am grateful for that. I say with shame, "I have not earned this, I was given this opportunity and told what to do to stay in it and that's how it came to fruition."
I am not a hardworking, dedicated, persistent, committed hustle everyday, productive 24/7 person, there's nothing that I can speak of myself with pride.
But I have learnt to acknowledge what I have and I wish to make the right use of it.
