White hairs

It's a known fact that there are two things that must be done in life according to almost, everyone.

1) Get a job.

2) Marriage

These two are understandable goals, first one is that you even can't live without it, but what about the second?

There have been plenty of people in the history, present and even in the upcoming future who live without it or most importantly, do it according to the time they wish to do so.

But, alas, that's not how an Asian Society works,

Time is ticking,

Body is aging,

Close-mindedness is you.

Your youth stands far away from you, like the beautiful sunset that will eventually dip in it's horizon, not to be seen again anytime soon.

Your face is weary and wrinkled now,

Your mind no longer open to new experiences and beliefs no longer flexible or being shaken profoundly during rough times.

Marry anyone you like, whoever can please us and doesn't completely upturn the equilibrium of the household.

Your current partner needs more time to think? Haven't told her parents yet? What about friends?

(Meh, the latter aren't important anyways)

Break it off, they say, not serious about taking it forward then, just stringing you along, to end up nowhere.

I look at their white hairs and wonder, so I am going to be one them too?

Pressurizing by expectations, doubting when people question me about it, influencing things to go their way, and eventually timing someone's life decision earlier than they want it to be?
